Students usually intern in various companies – from MNCs to middle level companies to start-ups in summer. Summer Internships are typically from May to end July since most of the universities fall semester begins in the month of August.
Domestic internship :
The advantages of interning in the hometown are that the place is familiar, local language is spoken, people can relate with each other more with respect to culture, festivals celebrated, regional languages spoken etc. There is a certain amount of comfort with them.
Abroad internship :
The advantage is that the intern gets to learn new culture and practices and learns to adapt to their working environment. The experience during the summer internship paves the way for applying in the next summer too in the same company or bigger companies in the related field.
It is the best way to gauge whether you have chosen the right field and also to try out newer departments. It also exudes confidence in the intern since he learns the application of his educational knowledge right in front of him.

6. Working under strict deadline, the intern can learn as to how not to crack under pressure and maintain calm and be confident.
7. Post the internship, the employer issues an Experience letter which is very useful when the student applies for job.
