Profile Building – The Secret Sauce Recipe for increasing the odds to be accepted by the Global Top Ranking Universities :

There are many students who aspire to go abroad for higher studies. They are also very passionate about their grades in schools and also their entrance tests scores. By and large excellent grades are not the distinguishing factors. They just make us one amongst many. University Admission officials are always in the search of students who have not only performed great academically, but have been passionate, got completely involved in any activity where education has been a strong pillar. Be it in any field – Sports, Community Services, entertainment, etc. The uniqueness in an Application makes it more appealing to the Admission Officer. Every student has his own strengths and weaknesses. These cannot be compared with any other student. So, every student needs to introspect and do a SWOT analysis on himself and find evaluate and enhance his strengths in a creative fashion.

So, lets do away with the “Herd Mentality” and focus on being a “Distinctive Applicant” who is sometimes quirky, eccentric at times and has his own identity which is as unique as his face in this world of 7.6 billion people.

There are many universities which have rejected applications with a high SAT score whose profile is only high academic scores, whereas the same University has admitted another student with lesser SAT scores, but whose profile is strong and effective.

Our education system focuses only on academics for admissions in schools, higher education and post-graduation. In today’s competitive world, students are compelled to chase marks in every subject, whether they like the subject or not. Their passion in a particular subject is not able to blossom due to which by the time they complete 10th grade, most of them find it difficult to even decide which stream to choose.

Hence Psychometric tests and Career Assessment tests have come to the rescue of such students. These tests help decide the stream based on the scores obtained in those tests.

Coming back to Profile Building, depending on the aptitude of the student, we chalk out a plan along with broad timelines which the student is supposed to adhere to and work to strengthen his resume.
